The Thai Raw Spa Project

On is page we would like to discuss a proposed project in Thailand that we are currently working on at the conceptual stages of now.
 
We are personally asking for your feedback certainly… plus… if appropriate... support & or collaboration (financial & or otherwise) for this unique project.
 
The project is about setting up a
small, low key “Nature Retreat” in Southern Thailand.
 
The project is called: “Thai Raw Spa”/ Nature Retreat.
 
 Plus a complemintary portion of this project we are planning in parallel with this project is a “free divers” camp” called:
                            "Free Dive Camp… Thailand!"
Free diving is diving without the use of air and scuba equipment. Like snorkeling but going down underwater (free diving) as well as staying on the surface for rest and relaxation.
 
This proposed project in all… will be located on the Andaman ocean side of Thailand, (west coast) of "Southern Thailand".
 
 A possible location area would be in the “Trang Province” of Southern Thailand.
We have personally surveyed this area for well and decided this area has many attributes which make it a quality area of Thailand to set this project up in.
 
Here are some of the main points the Trang Province has for basing this project there:
 
1st… and this is a big point…Trang does not have an inflated property market or an over touristy feel to it.
 
The current population is a high percent of Thais with Buddhist/ Chinese descent who are organized and have healthy, clean living Asian culture and are even into fitness and sports too.
 
Trang has a local modern airport, rail and bus service with reasonable connections to Bangkok daily.
 
Trang city is a modern, clean & organized with adequate material resources and manpower for supporting this development. Yet the city of Trang is pretty basic without so much in the way of western temptations (expensive shopping, clubs, girly bars and such).
 
The Trang area has excellent ocean and marine resources plus a number of beautiful local islands near by.
 
Trang area is close in proximity to other areas of interest in Southern Thailand like Krabi, Satun provinces and even quite close to a very beautiful quite Thai/ Malay border for visa runs too.
 
There is even a huge dam & lake area located a few hours drive from the area with an unbelievably massive, warm and clean… deep-water lake that is very pristine with amazingly beautiful limestone mountain landscapes for sightseeing and lots of water recreation possibilities.

Also in the Trang area there is plenty of local, quality foods and many other areas of interest such as…
 
Several amazing & easily accessible natural public park waterfalls areas with lots of hiking and recreational opportunities, a very nice accessible hot springs… all within easy drive distances from the Trang city limits.
 
Also Trang area is close enough to Phuket and Krabi to access those areas more developed resources in 2 to 4 hours driving time.
 
The main “draw” of the retreat will be based on....
 
Comfort, health, superior quality foods, hand grown and prepared organically with love
and an overall congenial health minded (low stress and toxicity) natural atmosphere.
 
A place to “really retreat” and "get away from it all"… without... leaving the planet... sort of thing.
 
The costs for short stay visitors will be paid on a "daily rate" for short term paying guest who come and can have “access to it all".
 They will know the daily set price before hand and will be charged on a per day basis only for their stay.
That way there will be a minimum of money changing hands and less focus and stress for accounting and such too.
 
All of the public side of the retreat’s facilities will be available for the guest to use including the daily food preps, fresh “made to order” organic elixir herbal juice bar, Thai herbal steam, Thai massage and the extensive gardens / orchard products on hand and within reason of course.
 
Also ocean activity trips and other field trips will be scheduled regularly based on need and interest and the weather of course too.
 
Normally the resort will be designed for a low key, affluent clientele looking for something “out of the ordinary” certainly with highest standards for natural foods and “chill out” factor as well.
Normally not more than 5 to 10 guest (not including partners or staff) staying at a time.
 
Occasionally a popular group event or seminar could possibly have up to 20 people staying at one time but this option won’t be needed or desired normally to keep the resort running from a financial stand point.
 
There will be a dormitory facility also available for low budget folks who might even come on a work trade basis.
 
We want to make sure to be open to welcome a variety of types of guest to keep the place alive and thriving socially and otherwise.
 
This is a natural lifestyle retreat 1st and 2nd as an educational outreach facility.
Thus the project will be developed with these as the main two goals in mind.
 
Very crucial and important for this project will contain an ongoing educational outreach program for neighboring Thai villagers and specifically a weekly “local kids club” that will  be developed with the in house staff doing the teaching and sharing in order to establish an informational/ resource exchange with the local population.
 
There is a lot of info that can be shared and exchanged from both sides and through cooperation, good communication and good will… a lot of positive quality of life enhancements efforts can be achieved.
 
The center will offer highest quality food and drink, with heavy emphasis on the “homegrown”, raw, organic side of things…
 Yet still offer a wide range of high quality foods to please most every ones taste including many vegan options as well.
 
On site smoking and alcohol will be allowed but limited to the point that all must be made naturally with natural ingredients only.
 
 There will be daily wood-fired Thai herbal steam sauna with a fresh-water cold dipping pool and Thai massage sala available for guest and residents.
 
Also included in the design is a “free-dive”/ swimming pool work out area (chemical free), yoga/ stretching area with a high tech weight training gym as well.
A meditation and informal Buddhist studies area will also be located on the property for self study and reflection.
 
Plus of coarse organized hiking/ runs on local trails (to hot springs possibly), Mt biking, gardening (“land dancing” we call it) and permacultural activities, ocean sports with snorkeling, free-diving trips as the main activities but not limited to that either.
 
Also very often there will be interesting people coming who really know their stuff and want to share it such as pro free divers/ spearos, permaculture designers & builders, musicians, body workers including Thai massage pros, raw chefs and juicing pros, detox health specialist… so it will be a very interesting mix and socially supportive retreat setting.
 
There will be two clear distinct areas of this retreat center....
 
1st area is a more "public" area where most short time guest and support staff will stay and interact.
 
The Public area will contain the following at least:
 
Private (and dorm) modest hotel western style rooms with everything needed for comfort including hot showers, private frig & a personal internet connection.
 
Also in the public area will be a sports gym/ yoga sala, free-dive sports training swimming pool, dining hall, library VDO and projection room, High-Speed Internet library, and other presentation/ learning rooms.
 
Of course a large commercial grade, food prep kitchen and dinning area, food storage areas… all efficiently designed for intelligently & healthfully feeding the groups of people staying there.
 
Other facilities include the following:
      massage sala / steam bathing area, full shop and maintenance facility for the gardens and infrastructure upkeep as well as spearo and ocean sports activities.
 
Finally extensive permaculture and gardening/ orchard areas will be design on many "rai" (1,600 m2 of land = 1 rai of land) of the project’s land which can be shared, worked by all on the property.
We hope to have a large land area of at least 50 rai to develop into a thriving permaculture.
The more land the better depending on financial support we are developing for the project.
 
Including in the design would be greenhouse/ screen house structures, rare fruit gardens and perennial vegetable gardens, fish, domesticated animals and aquaculture ponds plus many specialty tropical herbal medicinal gardens and such
 
 2nd area is the “private side” of the land to retreat to which will have private bungalows and villas for the main supports, some residents and limited partners of the project and this area will be open to only for them.
 
If the partners would like to invite guest this is fine but their full privacy will be respected and available.
 
These private living structures will be independent of the resort side of the facility and stand fully alone physically and legally.
 
Each owner will be responsible for their own property, perpetually leased land area of approx 1 rai or land and take care of their own private section of this project.
The legal ownership will be designed so that a smooth transition of ownership is possible if there are those who would like to move on and sell or exchange their perpetual leased property.
 
If an owner wishes this area can be offered for rent or sale back through the Thai holding Co. as well.
 
 The entire projects design parameters are based on using extensive permaculture design and planning principles (natural living design)  for maximum high quality lifestyle enjoyment that  includes  extensive edible food production (with lots of organic gardens and orchards) and low energy input for facilities. Resource recycling systems for a low impact high production of food and energy on site.
Natural building designs and materials using passive solar principles will me used in all building designs and construction.
The design emphasis is on quality craftsmanship and materials and long term sustainability.
The permaculture/ landscaping design will reflect these principles too using natural gravity systems as much as possible to maintain a low impact/ high yield permaculture (i.e. organic food production).
 
 
At this point we are open to about 6 to 10 serious limited partners with
3 to 5 Million Thai Baht each in contributions towards making this project come into reality.
These funds would enable us to start to be able to begin a limited Thai Co, purchase the land and set up the beginning stages of this timely and worth while development.
